About Guzzle
Guzzle is an independent Irish art and food publication unpacking relevant societal matters through the lens of food. Founded in Dublin and now based in East London, it brings together creative non-fiction, poetry, photography and illustration, all rooted in the making, eating and sharing of food. Each issue centres on a single theme. The first two editions examined nostalgia and love, approaching both subjects from unexpected angles and challenging familiar narratives.
Issue three invited contributors to consider what home means through what we cook, consume and gather around. Drawing on Ireland’s long tradition of hospitality, we imaginatively open doors to spaces and places across the globe, from Irish pubs overseas to a cookbook club in Copenhagen and a writer’s early upbringing in Hanoi, highlighting that home is as much about a feeling as it is about a place.
This issue marks a shift for Guzzle, as our first edition devoted entirely to illustration, with a richly detailed cover by Laura Callaghan and contributions from Hephee, Killian Fallon, Roxana Kenjeeva, Kelly O’Dowd, Jacky Sheridan, and Michelle Urban. Together, the works explore food not just as a subject, but as a visual language in itself.
