Our Neighbourhood sessions with Steve Batts

21 Mar 15

The next two sessions of Our Neighbourhood, CCA’s public project dealing with animals/human relationships, take place on the 21st and 28th of March. These sessions, led by Steve Batts, explore our environment through senses other than the visual, with particular reference to hearing, smell and touch. Over two consecutive Saturdays, participants are taken through a series of exercises which seek to make a connection with the heightened experience of these non-visual senses which are characteristic of many non-human species. The sessions elicit creative responses to these heightened sensory experiences which may be in a variety of media, including movement.

The event takes place as part of the Paul Hamlyn Foundation’s ‘Artworks Conversations’ series, as a practical example of art in a participatory setting.
