Creative writing workshop series: Where did our stories go?

Category: Tickets |

Description

Where did our stories go? A creative writing workshop series by Gráinne Donohue. This three-part workshop will manoeuvre around queer Irish archives. Leafing through accounts of queer existence and activism in books, pamphlets, and photos. Hosted online on Wednesdays 28 January, 4 & 11 February 6–8pm.

Together we’ll ask:

What stories have been stored?

What stories do we have to assume or imagine?

How do we make sense of our partial archives to tell stories?

In each session we will read texts (fiction and non-fiction) together, which we will use as examples to experiment in individual short writing exercises. The archives will run through the sessions as a point of departure.

This is a ticketed course, at a cost of £30 for three two-hour weekly, online sessions via Zoom. An invite and information will be emailed in advance. This workshop is suitable for ages 16 and over. You can book your ticket via this page.

This workshop is designed for queer/trans writers, non-writers, and artists and aims to provide a creative community for the sharing of resources and strategies and is open to everyone especially to queer non-writers and writers.
