CCA Youth returns to celebrate Imbolc with a neon twist. Want to make a Saint Brigid's Cross, but don't know where or when to gather rushes? No problem, we have you covered.

Neon Saint Brigid's Crosses by Jack McGarrigle

Join artist and maker Jack McGarrigle in the gallery for a relaxed workshop exploring the traditional Saint Brigid's Cross with untraditional materials. The workshop is inspired by materials found in our current exhibition Stones from a Gentle Place, with artist Susan Hughes. We'll guide you through constructing the traditional Imbolc patterns using fluorescent cards, recycled tin and pipe-cleaners. All materials are provided. Come make neon crosses and hold them in the exhibition's black light.

Book your free ticket for you and your friends via our online shop here or if you are passing please drop in. This is an in-person event, suitable for all ages. It takes place at CCA Derry~Londonderry, 10-12 Artillery Street, BT48 6RG.

Jack McGarrigle (he/him) is a queer artist, maker and facilitator from Derry~Londonderry. Based in Belfast, Jack is a scenic artist and carpenter in-training.
