New ACES artist – Miguel Martin

We are pleased to announce that Miguel Martin is our new Arts Council of Northern Ireland Artist Career Enhancement Scheme (ACES) Award artist.

Over the course of the next year Miguel will use his ACES funding to create a new body of work utilising a range of multidisciplinary tools and processes such as 3D printing, bronze casting, video installation and sound. He will attend workshops and residencies in Belfast and London that specialise in teaching these techniques and, with support from CCA, will focus on an extended period of experimentation, research and development.

Miguel Martin (b. 1985) lives and works in Belfast. Solo shows include: Curio, Ards Arts Centre; Out of Site, University Art Gallery, Belfast (2015); All Good in the Manhood, Abrons Arts Centre, New York (2011). Recent Group shows include: The FarAway Nearby, FE McWilliam Gallery, Banbridge; Presently, Millennium Court Arts Centre, Portadown (2014); Jerwood Drawing Prize, Jerwood Space, London (2013); You are now entering_____, CCA Derry/Londonderry (2012). Residencies and awards include the Esmee Fairbairn Artist’s Career Enhancement Programme (2014 –2015); University Of Ulster MFA Artist in residence (2013); the Arts Council of Northern Ireland Support for Individual Artist Award (2012, 2011); The Arts Council of Northern Ireland New York Residency (2011).
