Announcing URGENCIES (2023) Artists

CCA is delighted to announce the names of the artists selected for the 2023 edition of URGENCIES. Following an open call for early-career artists working in or with a connection to our region, the exhibition presents a snapshot of some of the many concerns and topics featuring in contemporary practice. These include reactions to the energy and climate crises, mental health, gentrification, identity, language, trauma, isolation and survival.

The URGENCIES (2023) artists are:

Chloe Austin, Husk Bennett, Daniel Coleman, Sarah Diver Lang, DreamBean, Miach Malachy, Julie Lovett, Richard Magee, Silvia Mandic, Yasmine Robinson.

The artists were selected by Artist Joy Gerrard and CCA Director Catherine Hemelryk and the project will be presented in CCA and offsite across our city launching on Saturday 21 January 2023. Keep an eye on CCA’s social media (@CCADLD) and here for updates.
