This year the Turner Prize is presented in Derry~Londonderry, the UK’s first City of Culture, in partnership with Tate. As part of the Turner Prize, CCA is hosting a series of critical writing workshops led by artist and writer Daniel Jewesbury. Participants then engage with the works in this year’s Turner Prize, producing their own critical responses, which are themselves discussed and critiqued by the group.

Daniel Jewesbury was born in south London in 1972 and studied Fine Art at the National College of Art & Design in Dublin between 1992 and 1996. Upon graduating Jewesbury moved to Belfast, where he studied for a PhD in the Media Studies department of the University of Ulster, between 1997 and 2001. He’s written for publications such as Art Monthly, Third Text, The Edinburgh Review, and Art & Research.
