School's Programme: GLIMMERS

Throughout GLIMMERS, a solo exhibition by artist Yasmine Robinson, local school children joined us for our School's Programme. Led by artist educator Vanessa Marsh, these workshops form part of the Public Programme for the exhibition.

We are delighted to share images from these workshops. The children had a tour of the exhibition, and were invited to be investigator to find and draw shapes and forms that they could find in the artworks. The children enjoyed hearing about Yasmine, her studio and art practice. They especially enjoyed seeing a photograph of Yasmine in her studio wearing a paint covered sweatshirt and her large paint covered palette. 

Vanessa invited the children to fill their 'jars' with a selection of their favourite shapes from what they had discovered. The children used paint-sticks, glue, tissue paper and coloured pencils to fill their jars with colourful forms, shapes and objects, to produce colourful artworks to take back to school with them.
