Culture Night 2023 | Echoes of Remembered Places
SCREEN-PRINTING: Friday 22 September, 5pm–8pm
For Culture Night 2023 CCA hosts an interactive screen-printing workshop for people of all ages, working in partnership with Derry Print Workshop. This year artist Kwok Tsui provides a series of images for the public to screen-print, inspired by his upcoming solo show Deferral | Echo. The exhibition opens at CCA on 30 September 2023, 7–9pm and runs until 21 December 2023.
This free, drop-in workshop gives you the opportunity to print an artwork and take it home with you on the night. Booking is not required and the activity is suitable for ages 6+.

This event builds on the partnership with Derry Print Workshop, who CCA partnered with to deliver the event 'This route' in 2022 and 'Screen-Print Your Own Ephemera' in 2021. Supported by Derry City and Strabane District Council.

Kwok Tsui (born 1989, China) is originally from Hong Kong, China, and now resides in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Kwok graduated from the Belfast School of Art in 2020 with First Class Honours, and is an active member of QSS Gallery & Studios in Belfast. In 2022, He was one of 11 artists selected to exhibit at The MAC’s 10th-anniversary exhibition 10 Years of Painting Shows – New Exits to celebrate the painting practices that have emerged from graduates of the BA and MFA Fine Art courses at Belfast School of Art since 2012. He was invited to exhibit in Golden Thread Gallery Portrait of Northern Ireland: Neither an Elegy nor a Manifesto in 2021.
Future exhibitions include Border | Sky at Royal Hibernian Academy, Dublin, in November 2023,with a text by artist Joy Gerrard.
Kwok has been awarded the Minority Ethnic Artists and Residency Scheme to support his practice from the Arts Council of Northern Ireland (2022), In addition, He has been nominated for the Arts Foundation Futures Awards (2024).
Derry Print Workshop Ltd. (DPW) is a not for profit printmaking collective providing open access studio facilities for fine art printmakers in Derry and the northwest.
DPW is a recognised charity and not for profit organisation founded to provide facilities for artists to make limited edition original fine art prints and to promote print making as an art form.
