CCA Introducing is back again in 2022 with more artists participating in our 24 hour social media takeovers. Following on from Salma Abedin Prithi, we have Corinne Mazzoli. Follow Corinne as she takes control of our Instagram page on Friday 15 April 2022 to share her research, work and interests. Corinne Mazzoli was nominated by Alessia Cargnelli, a visual artist, curator, programmer and researcher, and member of 2021 Turner prize-winning Array Collective.

For years my artistic practice has made use of videos, photos, installations and performances and has been inspired by the latest trends in fashion and lifestyle, analysed with an ironic and critical eye. In particular I investigate identity constructs and gender stereotypes in relation to online representation. I lately have been combining research and pedagogical practice resulting in collaborations and presentations at IBERO Universidad Iberoamericana Puebla (MX), MA*GA Museum, Palazzo Grassi, Korean Pavilion at the 17th Venice Architecture Biennial (IT), Mediterranea Biennale (SMR).

During the 24 hour social media takeover I will present the outcomes of a workshop held at Universidad Iberoamericana Puebla in Mexico as part of the project “On tutorials stereotypes and body visions”, a hybrid research between theory and workshop practice supported by Italian Council (10th edition, 2021), a programme for the international promotion of Italian art of the General Directorate for Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry of Culture. This research analyses the Tutorial to question its homologating and imitative nature, making it a tool for emancipation and representation of identity in an unconventional way. During the workshop we analysed practises of "instruction based art", artistic experiences related to the body, identity, self-representation and gender studies.

Furthermore through an Instagram livestream we will discuss the topics and the outcomes in a collective discourse.
