Writing Workshops with PVA and Guests
In conjunction with our forthcoming exhibition, Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain, PVA (the journal of contemporary art criticism) will deliver two day-long workshops on writing art criticism. These workshops, taking place in February and March, will be led by PVA editors and art critics Nathan O'Donnell and Marysia Wieckiewicz-Carroll, with talks by guest writers Rebecca O'Dwyer and Morgan Quaintance. These workshops are for writers at any level with an interest in writing about art.
Through a mixture of theoretical and practical exercises, participants will engage as critics with the exhibition material, producing reviews and other texts in response. These will be open and welcoming sessions, exploring some of the major questions facing the writer on visual art, and asking what it means to produce a regional art criticism.
Workshop #1 Saturday, 7 February, 10 am - 5 pm (with guest writer Rebecca O'Dwyer)
Workshop #2 date Saturday, 7 March, 10 am - 5 pm (with guest writer Morgan Quaintance)
Workshops are free but registration is essential. Please contact info@cca-derry-londonderry.org for further information or to register. The project forms part of CCA’s ‘Open Book’ programme supported by Arts Council Northern Ireland / Derry City Council Legacy Funds,
