For NI Science Festival 2023 CCA Derry~Londonderry invites artist Jane Butler to deliver a free public workshop during the festival. Sensing the City, a workshop facilitated by Jane Butler, sees art, mindfulness, psychology and science collide.
The workshop will include a brief insight into the artist's research and practice, an urban walk in Derry~Londonderry to collect sensory data, followed by an activity in the gallery. We all experience and perceive our external environments in a multi-sensory way and the workshop will explore space and place through embodied, hyper-sensual experience, activated through an urban walk including various sensory activities. The workshop will be a way to experience the city in a curious manner with the option to create something at the end.
This is a free workshop, with a limited number of places. Booking is essential and can be booked through our online shop*. This workshop is suitable for ages 16+.
